The sports ministry's guidelines limited the Asian Games tennis squad to players ranked among the top eight in Asia. As a result, Manas Dhamne, Vaishnavi Adkar, Sahaja Yamalapalli, Vaidehee Chaudhari and Prarthana Thombare missed out on selection.
