Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to inaugurate the initial pair of Amrit Bharat Express trains from Ayodhya on Saturday.

Railway officials have highlighted the distinctive features of these trains, showcasing aerodynamically designed locomotives. The striking orange and grey appearance of the Amrit Bharat Express draws attention. Each end of the train boasts a WAP5 locomotive, enabling push-pull operation, which ensures swifter acceleration and reduced travel durations.

The Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express, comprising 22 coaches, comprises eight general second-class coaches for unreserved passengers, twelve second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches, and two guard compartments.

The final ticket price for the Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express remains undisclosed as it has not yet been made available on the IRCTC website.

In terms of timing, Train number 15557 is scheduled to depart from Darbhanga every Monday and Thursday at 3:00 PM, reaching Anand Vihar Terminal station in Delhi at 12:35 PM the following day, covering a total travel time of 21 hours and 35 minutes.

This train will make stops at several stations, including Kamtul, Janakpur Road, Sitamarhi, Bairgania, Raxaul, Narkatiyaganj, Bagha, Kaptanganj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Mankapur, Ayodhya Dham, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Etawah, Tundla, Aligarh Junction, and finally, Anand Vihar Terminal.

The Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, constructed at a cost exceeding ₹240 crore, stands as a contemporary three-story building equipped with advanced amenities like elevators, escalators, food plazas, and childcare rooms. The station has been designed to be inclusive for all and has been certified as a green station building by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two Amrit Bharat trains: the Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and the Malda Town-Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express. Additionally, six new Vande Bharat Trains will commence operations, expanding the country's railway network across various routes.

The Northern Railway announced that the station building and new amenities at Ayodhya Dham Junction cost ₹241 crore. The new station building spans 140mx32.6m, with an additional front porch of 140mx12m to shield passengers from adverse weather conditions.
